Digital Sports
Heading into my senior year, I took on the role of editor in chief of The Spear, Arapahoe's digital sports platform that focuses on reporting via social media, the website and broadcasting. I jumped at the opportunity not only because of my personal love of sports and competition as a varsity athlete, but to tell the stories of athletes--not just rehash the game scores.

The digital nature of the job also appealed to me. While I appreciate the importance of print, I also know the vast majority of my peers consume their media via social channels. Because of that, I have used the school's student media Instagram account to share both images and longer-form captions (often linking to full articles online) to meet students where they are.

Schools Work to Build a Solid Foundation Through Basketball
In this story written for the school's online publication and social media
account, I promoted an important event that merged sports with mental health. Three students from my school took their own lives in a two-year period, pushing suicide prevention to the forefront. A basketball game/fundraiser was held pre-COVID to great success, and after a pandemic-caused hiatus, returned in 2022. I interviewed the coach,

Football Playoff Controversey
