Yearbook

Heading into high school as a freshman, I knew I wanted to be a member of Warrior Media, but I wasn't sure what platform would suit me best. I decided to start with yearbook, and quickly became part of the "YERD" team (that's short for yearbook nerd, by the way).

I liked the fact that being a yearbook staff member gave me experience not only writing crisp, tight narratives, but also taking photos and learning page design.

Wish Week

This spread covered all of the festivities and fundraising for a Make-A-Wish beneficiary. Amidst the chaos of school during covid this tradition still prospered and brought students closer despite being physically distanced.

What if Brayden Burr Isn't so Simple

In this personality profile published in my high school's yearbook, I highlighted a student with a non-traditional passion. I wanted to go beyond the expected profile of the star athlete or lead in the school play, so when I
heard there was a classmate into auto mechanics, I was eager to interview him.

Respect the Drip

I had free reign to design this spread however I wanted which was so much fun. I decided to take one of the pages in the direction of fashion quizzes I took all the time in teen magazines. This touch added an interactive element to the book that is usually difficult to achieve.

Look Ma' No Hands

This spread highlighted students that took risks, broke shoulders, or avoided screen time. Keeping your "hands off" meant many different things to everyone and they gave it their all.

We've Got Spirit Yes We Do

This winter sports spread covered the Arapahoe spirit squads. The Toms dance team and the cheer team both have great traditions and programs that unite the whole school.
